Unity members and fellow dolphin users. As you all know Boonex released the RC1 on November Friday 13, 2009. Many of you rushed to get your download only to find out that it was basically a waste of time, and more frustration than many of you wanted or needed in your life.
Then dealing with the whole ordeal of reporting bugs or suspected bugs. One that sticks in my mind in particularly was the issue that many had with Streaming Media from the Video Comments. Much discussion was presented on this and Zarcon, "Chris" put forth a ton of effort in trying to find resolution, only to find out that having a 3rd Party RMS because the hosting service for the Dolphin Suite was not capable of hosting RMS was the entire issue.
It was discovered that host1 (where site was hosted) had ports blocked that were needed by host2 (where RMS was hosted). The stance that host1 took was that they were not supporting RC's from Boonex. What I found to be disturbing is that if you are going to tout yourself as a Dolphin Hosting Service Provider, you need to support all aspects of the application.
Terabyte Hosting Solutions does just that, we have not only hosted all Betas, and RC's we have continuously stayed up with the releases of the RMS. Yes this is a bit of a pain, and its more of a pain when Boonex doesnt provide a DIFF on the versions.
Terabyte Hosting Solutions is the only Dolphin Hosting Service Provider that is Dedicated to the Dolphin Suite. We optimize our servers for performance and security for the Dolphin Suite. Our staff are all Dolphin users, so the support ticket questions are answered with knowledge, and not with a guess, or a reference that we do not support 3rd party scripts, which is what you will get from the majority of the hosting service providers. I wont name any of those here, since that would only benefit them by having a link or even their name on this Great Site of Terabyte Hosting Solutions.
At any rate, we are going to follow this journey of the RC's and see exactly when we get a Final Release? It was the prediction of Terabyte Hosting Solutions months ago, that we would not see a Final Release until 2010, and I think we projected March 2010, wondering now how far off we were on that one. Could actually end up being June-July 2010 at the rate we are going now, and what i am referring to here is a STABLE release, not one that bug laden, bugs that pop up out of nowhere that were not evident on the previous release.
Regards,
